History

In 1990 Bert and Garry Steensma became the new owners of Mott's 76. They changed the name to Airport Auto Service and sold Total gasoline, offered full service auto repairs, a radiator shop, quick lube service, and U-Haul rentals. Soon after purchasing Airport Auto Service, the Steensma's built a store on the adjacent vacant property and moved their automotive parts business, Milwood Auto Supply, to the new facility.

In 1996, Airport Auto and Milwood Auto Supply were sold to Jobbers Warehouse of Grand Rapids, one of the largest automotive parts distributors in Michigan. The two businesses retained their names and staff and continued to offer the same services. Through its affiliation with Jobbers, Airport Auto Service operated under the Parts Plus banner until 2001, when Jobbers sold their warehouse and parts stores to the Auto Value warehouse, AutoWares of Grand Rapids. Airport Auto Service ownership remained unchanged and along with Kalamazoo Automotive became Auto Value Service Centers.

In January 2006, Dave Wohlfert, who had managed Airport Auto Service for 14 years, joined the ownership team. To better serve his customers, Dave combined Kalamazoo Automotive with his Airport Auto Service location in October of 2007.
