Dave Wohlfert
Co-owner

Dave graduated from South Haven High School in 1975 and enrolled at Southwestern Michigan Community College in Dowagiac, MI that fall. There he earned an Associate's Degree in Automotive Service and spent his summers working at the Subaru/AMC/Jeep dealership in his hometown. In 1977 he graduated from SMC and moved to Kalamazoo to work.

He found his first job after graduation at the Orrin B. Hayes Oldsmobile Mercedes-Benz dealership. He started out servicing Oldsmobiles, and then after a few years moved on to the Mercedes-Benz line. He would hone his skills in German engineering for seven years.

In the spring of 1986, Dave left Hayes and spent the summer with a friend working out the details of opening an auto repair shop. That fall they opened Certified Auto Repair Service with two service bays. When Dave sold the business to his partner five years later, the shop had grown to six bays and four auto technicians. Moving on, Dave became an employee once again and began working for Halli's Autocare. There he gained experience working on Japanese cars such as Mazda, Toyota, and Honda. In the spring of 1992, he joined the staff as Service Manager at Airport Auto Service. It was an opportunity he couldn't refuse. Dave became part owner in January 2007.

Dave's wife, Holly, is a RN at Bronson Hospital. They have two daughters, Amy and Abby. Amy and her husband Ryan are both in the US Army and stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY. Abby attends Valparaiso University, studying to earn her B.S. in nursing. Dave is very active at Trinity Lutheran Church and also enjoys construction, remodeling projects, wood working, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, and playing golf whenever possible.
